The Boundary Engineering Canvas.

Most boundaries do not fail because you did not know you needed one. They fail because they were vaguely defined and inconsistently held. This canvas engineers one specific boundary end to end, and hands you the exact words to hold it.

Boundary Engineering A specific boundary, built to hold
Why Boundaries Fail

A boundary is not a request. It is a limit plus a follow-through you control.

Principle 01

Specific, not vague

"I need better work‑life balance" is a wish. "I do not answer messages after 7pm" is a boundary. The engineering is in the precision.

Principle 02

Enforced by you

A boundary the other person has to honor is a hope. A real one is enforced by an action you take, whether or not they cooperate.

Principle 03

Unjustified

A paragraph of reasons signals the boundary is negotiable. State the limit. Do not build a legal case for your right to have it.

Go Deeper

Boundaries are one system. There are five more.

Boundary engineering lives inside Applied Systems, one of three dimensions we build. The diagnostic shows you which dimension to build first.
